Dean Armstrong QC
Dean Armstrong QC is one of the UK’s leading authorities on cyber law. Co-author of the first comprehensive textbook on the subject, he has advised international banks, large financial institutions, blue chip companies and major players in the not for profit sector. He is expert in areas such as GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation), the impact of Brexit on data regulation, and how international firms should manage data across the world.
In a world where data is described as the new oil in terms of value, Dean can offer expert insight into all cyber law issues including financial and regulatory repercussions of cyber-security law breaches, regulation changes (both current and upcoming), and the challenges around data storage and management on a global scale.
Dean has a background working for City firms and urges business leaders to regard data as the business-critical issue of our time. He warns many are still blind to the repercussions if they fall foul of regulation; from increasingly draconian fines, reputational fallout and increasing levels of personal liability.
Dean has regularly appeared as a commentator for Sky and the BBC through his wider work as a top-rated criminal defence barrister.
