A litigator with decades of international experience and expertise in marine, aviation and transport insurance matters has joined Setfords Solicitors as a consultant.
Andrew Higgs specialises in international arbitration, dispute resolution, mediation insurance and legal risk management.
Andrew, who has worked for a number of City firms including Davies Arnold Cooper (later DAC Beechcroft) and ran his own practice, has handled work for clients across the globe including those in China, Saudi Arabia, Africa, North America and Australasia.
Andrew’s extensive experience also includes transport and energy insurance and reinsurance matters. His background in marine law includes five years spent working as the liaison officer and legal risk management consultant for the International Union of Marine Insurance at the International Maritime Organisation.
Andrew said: “I have enjoyed my introduction to the Setfords business model, and enjoy working with my new colleagues in the City of London office, and locally in Haslemere where I have based my own practice. I look forward to developing our commercial dispute resolution, legal risk management and international insurance practice in the coming months and years.”
