Job Title: Senior Consultant Solicitor
James joined Setfords as Head of Litigation from a leading London and South East based practice in 2016. After 7 years in this role, he transitioned to be a Senior Consultant with the firm.
James has a particular focus on assessing risk and incorporating practical provisions to protect clients whilst being commercially sensitive to the underlying transaction.
Commercial Litigation:
Regarding contentious work, James is principally instructed in commercial disputes arising in the course of business – most commonly contracts for supply, insurance disputes, commercial lease and professional negligence cases.

- the sale of a market leading insurance price comparison website
- frequent A3 & A4 licensed premises sales as a going concern or
- lead advisor on sale of large care home facility
In addition to transactional work, James is the lead employment advisor for wide variety of market leaders in their individual sector providing concise, commercially focused contextual advice.
