Ren Behan is a Consultant Family Law Solicitor based in St Albans and London. She is warm and approachable. Ren is able to offer flexible appointments at a time that suits her clients and will tailor her offering to suit their needs. Ren also has advocacy experience, and can attend court on your behalf to represent you.

Ren qualified in 2005, at first into criminal law and civil liberties and then worked as a crown prosecutor. She later returned and trained at a Tier One, Legal 500 specialist family law firm and for a national team before joining Setfords as a consultant in 2023. She puts client care at the very heart of her legal practice and understands that divorce, separation and children matters can be highly emotional and difficult for her clients to process. Ren’s approach to resolving cases is to work collaboratively and to listen carefully to the needs and objectives of her clients, proposing constructive ways of solving disputes effectively and efficiently. Ren has successfully steered cases away from Court through negotiation, but is also able to draw upon her experience of litigation if needed.

Ren is a mentor for Women Returners U.K., and a member of Resolution, an organisation of Family Law professionals promoting non-confrontational practice. She graduated from UCL, and became a solicitor through The College of Law in London. Ren has also attained a Certificate in Family Law and Practice from BPP in London.

Interests outside of work

Ren founded the Anglo-Polish Lawyers UK network to bring together legal professionals working in the United Kingdom. She is also a keen cook and a published author and enjoys spending time with her three children and travelling.
