Sonia started her legal career in the legal department of the Department of Health and Social Security (DHSS) and later as a Senior Housing & Rent Recovery Manager with the London Borough of Hackney, in their Housing & Legal Department.

QUALIFICATIONS & MEMBERSHIPS

She graduated with a LLB (Hons) in Law at Birkbeck College, University of London, followed by the Post Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice (LPC) at the BBP School of Law in Holborn London. She also took a specialist post graduate diploma in Sports Law at Kings College, University of London in 1999.

Sonia has extensive experience and knowledge in both Commercial and Residential property transactions.  Her Commercial experience covers all aspects of the acquisitions of small to medium sized commercial freehold and leasehold businesses, along with the sale /assignment of commercial freehold and leasehold businesses. She also acts for commercial landlords and tenants in the renewal of their leases under Part II of the Landlord and Tenants Act, 1954; negotiates on behalf of either the landlord or tenant in their rent reviews, pursuant to the terms of their commercial leases; commercial property re-financing; commercial lease extensions; licencing applications under the Licencing Act, 2003 and general Landlord and Tenant matters.

As regards Sonia’s Residential experience she undertakes instructions from medium to high-net-worth clients involving all aspects of a sale, purchase, re-mortgage, transfer of equity, lease extensions, help to buy, shared ownership, along with auction transactions for freehold and leasehold properties.

Sonia also has experience of drafting Wills and Administration of Estate, prepare applications for the Grant of Probate; Family contentious & non-contentious matters and Landlord & Tenant Law, which she gained working for various law firms in the past.

HOBBIES & INTERESTS 

Sonia takes a keen interest in political and current affairs, and is a qualified Personal Trainer, Sport Massage Therapist and Hatha Yoga Instructor.  She recently started practicing Muay Thai, martial arts training.
