National law firm Setfords Solicitors is celebrating its 10 year anniversary and marking the occasion with the release of a film revealing what goes on during a typical day at the firm.
Setfords Solicitors – A Day in the Life features interviews with lawyers, support staff and the company’s founders and reveals how clients and lawyers benefit from the Setfords way of working. CEO Chris Setford said: “We take great pride in how Setfords has developed and we wanted to use our 10 year anniversary as an opportunity to show people exactly how we work. “We are very proud of what we have achieved and this film shows what a talented team of people we have working with us.” Setfords started with one small office in Guildford, one lawyer and a secretary but has evolved into a nationwide firm with over 160 consultant lawyers working across all major areas of law, multiple offices and an industry-leading support team. CEO Guy Setford said: “It was November 2006 when we set out to create a better way of working so could deliver a better legal service. “It hasn’t always been an easy journey – nothing worth doing is – but through innovative thinking, technology and working with some of the most talented people in the legal industry, we have achieved our goal.” CEO Chris Setford added: “From humble beginnings we have grown into a firm with a turnover of over £8 million pounds that very nearly made the Top 200 law firms this year. “We have improved the lives of our clients, improved the lives of lawyers, and built a highly talented support team – the best in the industry. “It is very satisfying to see lawyers take control of their professional lives, enjoy greater rewards, and at the same time deliver an even better service to their clients. To have played a part in making that happen is a wonderful feeling.” The firm has enjoyed a very successful year with new offices opening in Chancery Lane in London, winning best Innovation in Client Acquisition at The Lawyer Business Leadership and Summit Awards, and looks set to reach record figures for new lawyers joining the firm. Setfords’ consultant lawyers operate on a fee-share basis and work with a central support team based in the firm’s head office in Guildford. Technology allows them to work flexibly – in many cases from their homes or clients’ offices – ensuring the firm keeps overheads low and savings can be passed on to clients.
