Setfords Solicitors Director James Wilkes has been recognised as a rising star within the legal industry after being shortlisted for a major award.
James, who joined Setfords in March this year, has been selected by the Modern Law Awards 2016 in the Rising Star of the Year category.
James, who’s 33, qualified four years ago and yet is already Head of Litigation at Setfords and was recently promoted to Director.

“James represents everything you would want in a lawyer: he has an an encyclopedic knowledge of the law, generates a huge amount of business, has a natural ability as a manager and mentor, and showcases a commitment to helping people in the community.”
The Modern Law Awards 2016 are judged by senior professionals from across the legal industry.
James said: “I am very pleased to receive this nomination. It is a great honour to be recognised by my peers within the industry particularly so when the legal profession is becoming increasingly competitive.”
James runs both the litigation and employment teams and also specialises in equine law. Since joining Setfords he has also led on community engagement, which resulted in the firm sponsoring a major charity event in Surrey this summer.
James is also committed to pro-bono work and regularly answers queries on Setfords’ askalawyer.co.uk website – a service that offers the public the chance to pose questions regarding legal queries and receive answers for free.

The Modern Law Awards will be held in London on November 10, 2016.
