Setfords Solicitors has been shortlisted for ‘Law Firm of the Year’ and the ‘Award for Wellbeing’ in this year’s Lexis Nexis Legal Awards.
These prestigious awards recognise and celebrate excellence and innovation across the legal sector.
It is the third nomination Setfords has received for ‘Law Firm of the Year‘ in the past 12 months.
This latest recognition follows another year of growth for the nationwide, consultant-led firm, which attracted a further 70 consultants in 2017, has doubled the size of its Chancery Lane offices and has been recognised for its innovative practices in numerous sector awards.
Wellbeing by design
Setfords was founded on a simple premise: that happier lawyers mean happier clients. This vision translates into a firm that puts the wellbeing of its lawyers at its heart in order to deliver superior service for its clients. Flexible, remote working enabled though bespoke technologies allows its consultants the freedom to control their own work-life balance. Free from the burden of the unreachable targets set by many traditional law firms, Setfords consultants benefit from a fee-share model that sees them able to earn more without undue stress and long hours.
Co-CEO Guy Setford said: “Being nominated for both ‘Law Firm of the Year’ and the ‘Award for Wellbeing’ is well-deserved recognition for our team who have helped to deliver a firm that works as well for its lawyers as it does for its client. The wellbeing of our lawyers is at the heart of everything we do and these nominations go hand-in-hand. We couldn’t achieve what we do without maintaining focus on initiatives that make our lawyers’ lives better.”
Co-CEO Chris Setford added: “There is a pervading myth that being a lawyer is synonymous with stress, over-work and long hours. This is dangerous for lawyers themselves and the profession as a whole. The health, happiness and wellbeing of a firm’s talent should be its pervading concern. Lawyers who feel supported, understood and rewarded will always deliver a better service to clients. Our consultant model delivers on its promises of flexibility and reward where more traditional firms cannot. That’s why we are delighted to be shortlisted in these categories which reflect the high quality of our lawyers’ work, underpinned by our support for them and their aspirations.”
